Sew a Shift Dress (Two Sessions)

IMPORTANT NOTE: This class meets in two sessions, from 6:00-9:00 PM on both January 6th and 13th. Registration from this page covers both sessions.

Level:  Intermediate

Age: 16+

We provide:  Expert instruction and use of a sewing machine and supply kit.

You bring:  Already-cut fabric in your size for Version 1 of the Ultimate Shift Dress from Sew Over It (print copies available in the store), plus a hook and eye. See the pattern envelope or ask a Notion staff member for fabric recommendations. Registered participants receive 10% off class supplies purchased at Notion.

Total instruction time: 6 hours over two sessions

Get ready to start building the wardrobe of your dreams with this class that will teach you many of the foundational skills of apparel sewing. Adding darts, sleeves, closures, and facings to your clothes will seriously up your game--and we promise anyone can do it! The classic Ultimate Shift Dress from Sew Over It is the perfect canvas to sew and wear through any season.

Please come to class with your fabric already cut out. We will be sewing Version 1 of the pattern. If you are not confident about preparing the pattern and cutting out the fabric at home, our Intro to Garment Sewing class may be just the thing for you!

LIABILITY WAIVER

I understand that participation in this class/event may include inherently dangerous activities, including but not limited to the use of scissors, rotary cutting blades, pins, needles, and other sharp implements; the use of motorized sewing machines with sharp, fast-moving parts; and the use of hot steam irons and other electrified and/or high-temperature equipment. I agree to exercise appropriate care when participating and to refrain from participating if I am taking medication or am under the influence of any substances with any tendency to affect negatively my motor skills or level of care and attention. I release from all claims, demands, liability, right or causes of action of whatsoever kind and waive my right to sue Notion LLC, their employees, officers, members, and agents from any and all claims in any way connected with any injury, illness (including death), or economic loss I may suffer or which may result from my participation in this class/event. If registering on behalf of a minor child, I acknowledge that I am their parent or legal guardian and agree to their participation and to the above liability waiver on their behalf.
