About the event

IMPORTANT NOTE: This class meets in six sessions, from 6:00-9:00 PM on October 4, 11, 18 & 25 and November 1 & 8. Registration from this page covers all six sessions.

Level:  Easy. You should be comfortable using the basic functions of a sewing machine, and some quilting experience is recommended.

Ages: 16+

We provide:  Expert instruction and use of a sewing machine and basic tool kit, including rotary cutter and mat.

You bring:  A copy of the Then Came June Meadowland Quilt pattern OR quilt pattern of your choice, and fabric in accordance with the pattern requirements. Registered participants receive 10% off class supplies purchased at Notion. Note that this class is focused on piecing the quilt top, so batting, backing, and binding are not required supplies.

Total instruction time: 18 hours over 6 sessions

Cost:  $139

Ready to make a quilt but feeling intimidated by the size of the project?  Local quilt designer Rachel Sterling will guide you through the design, cutting, and piecing process for your first quilt top. We suggest the Then Came June Meadowland Quilt, but you are welcome to bring the pattern of your choice and get creative! Students will explore methods for using block design and color to create their own masterpiece. Class time will be focused on designing and piecing the quilt top, with suggestions provided for how to quilt and bind it into a finished product.

Limited to 6 participants. Requires 4 participants to run. In the event of cancellation due to low enrollment, registered participants will receive notice and a refund 3 days prior to the scheduled start date of the series.

Please note our sewing studio space is on the second floor with no elevator access. We sincerely apologize for any difficulty this creates. Don't hesitate to contact us with questions at hello@notionvt.com.

COVID-19 safety statement: This class will take place indoors with as much physical distancing as is feasible to provide quality hands-on instruction. Masks are required for all, regardless of vaccination status. Our staff is fully vaccinated. You will be updated via email if our health and safety procedures change.
