Learn to Sew With Confidence with Anne Fernweh (Three Sessions)

IMPORTANT NOTE: This class meets in three sessions, from 6:00-9:00 PM on August 4, 11 & 18. Registration from this page covers all three sessions.

Ages: 16+

Level: Beginner. Appropriate if you’ve never used a sewing machine before.

We provide: Sewing machine, basic supplies, and patterns/instructions for two fun and easy sewing projects; fabric for the first project, plus a 10% discount on additional supplies.

You bring: Approx. 1 yard of fabric and matching thread if desired for the apron project. A detailed supply list will be provided in the first class. Class participants receive 10% off supplies purchased at Notion.

Never touched a sewing machine or in need of a serious refresher? Fear not! This class will ease you into the basics of using a machine and working with fabric. We’ve carefully selected two projects--a pillowcase and a gathered half-apron--that will build on each other, one skill at a time. You’ll blow your own mind when you progress from stitching together simple shapes to creating your first custom-fit garment in no time!

This is our only true beginner class that includes detailed sewing machine instruction. If you're already comfortable with the basic functions of a machine, check out our class listings for other offerings at the “Easy” level and up.

Your class fee includes fabric and notions for the first of the two projects (pillowcase). Once you’re more comfortable working with fabric, you’re invited to use your 10% class supply discount to choose fabric that you love for the apron project. All the info you need to pick the perfect fabric will be provided in the class.

Limited to 6 participants. Requires 3 participants to run. In the event of cancellation due to low enrollment, registered participants will receive notice and a refund 3 days prior to the scheduled start date of the series.

I agree to exercise appropriate care when participating and to refrain from participating if I am taking medication or am under the influence of any substances with any tendency to affect negatively my motor skills or level of care and attention. I release from all claims, demands, liability, right or causes of action of whatsoever kind and waive my right to sue Notion LLC, their employees, officers, members, and agents from any and all claims in any way connected with any injury, illness (including death), or economic loss I may suffer or which may result from my participation in this class/event. If registering on behalf of a minor child, I acknowledge that I am their parent or legal guardian and agree to their participation and to the above liability waiver on their behalf.
