Intro to Knit Fabrics: Sew a T-Shirt

Level:  Intermediate

Age: 16+

We provide:  Expert instruction and use of a sewing machine and supply kit.

You bring:  A copy of the Grainline Lark, Cashmerette Concord, or Thread Theory Strathcona t-shirt sewing pattern (print copies available in store), plus the recommended amount of jersey knit fabric as indicated on the pattern envelope, and matching thread if desired (black and white thread provided). Registered participants receive 10% off class supplies purchased at Notion.

Stretchy knit garments are the most essential wardrobe staples for many of us, so why not learn to make them? In this class we will shed light on how to fit and sew with stretch fabrics using a standard home machine. That's right, no sergers in sight! You choose from three different t-shirt patterns (including a menswear option) that we carry here at Notion to find the perfect fit.

Please come to class with your fabric already cut out. You should cut the crew or scoop neckline option on your chosen pattern. Feel free to select your choice of sleeve length. If you are not confident about preparing the pattern and cutting out the fabric at home, our Intro to Garment Sewing class may be just the thing for you!.

Limited to 5 participants. Requires 3 participants to run. In the event of cancellation due to low enrollment, registered participants will receive notice and a refund 3 days prior to the scheduled date.

I understand that participation in this class/event may include inherently dangerous activities, including but not limited to the use of scissors, rotary cutting blades, pins, needles, and other sharp implements; the use of motorized sewing machines with sharp, fast-moving parts; and the use of hot steam irons and other electrified and/or high-temperature equipment. I agree to exercise appropriate care when participating and to refrain from participating if I am taking medication or am under the influence of any substances with any tendency to affect negatively my motor skills or level of care and attention. I release from all claims, demands, liability, right or causes of action of whatsoever kind and waive my right to sue Notion LLC, their employees, officers, members, and agents from any and all claims in any way connected with any injury, illness (including death), or economic loss I may suffer or which may result from my participation in this class/event. If registering on behalf of a minor child, I acknowledge that I am their parent or legal guardian and agree to their participation and to the above liability waiver on their behalf.
