About the event
Please join us for a trunk show and shepherd talk presented by Katie Sullivan of Central Vermont's own Bobolink Yarns. For one day only, you will be able to shop a special expanded selection of Bobolink's incredible artisan yarn. At 11:00 AM, Katie will give a presentation about the origins of their yarn and the work that the company is doing to bolster our local fiber economy.
We couldn't be more excited to be partnering with Bobolink as they launch their inaugural line of local breed-specific, flock-specific yarn. Their initial offering is a 3-ply fingering-weight yarn from the Romney sheep of Scuttleship Farm in Panton, Vermont. This yarn is Animal Welfare Approved and spun by a mill that specializes in producing fine yarn from long-wool breed sheep.
Bobolink Yarns aims to bridge the sheep to yarn market gap by paying small-scale shepherds a fair and sustainable price for raw wool, milling it into top quality yarn, and bringing that yarn to New England yarn shops. Owners Katie Sullivan and Matt Wimmer raise sheep at Cloverworks Farm in Irasburg, Vermont, and are passionate about local yarn.
