Blanca Flight Suit with Eliza West (Five Sessions)

NOTE: This class meets in five sessions, from 6:00-9:00 PM on October 31 and November 7, 14, 21 & 28. Registration from this page covers all five sessions.

Level: Advanced beginner/intermediate. You should be comfortable using a sewing machine and sewing garments using patterns.

Ages: 14+

We provide: Expert instruction and use of a sewing machine and basic tool kit.

You bring: A copy of the Closet Core Blanca Flight Suit pattern and already-cut fabric pieces for the jumpuit in your size (print copies available in the store), plus notions as specified by the pattern. See the pattern envelope or ask Notion staff for fabric recommendations. Registered participants receive 10% off class supplies purchased at Notion.

Are you ready to up your garment sewing game? In this class, we will go in-depth on a single project that includes such essential garment sewing techniques as zippers, sleeves, pockets, belt loops, and more. The Closet Core Blanca Flight Suit is the perfect fall project for growing your skills. This vintage-inspired knee-length dress features a lined bodice, zipper closure, and a series of bodice darts for the perfect fit.

Please come to class with your fabric pieces already cut out. This is a construction technique class only. Bring a muslin to Eliza's pattern fitting clinic on October 23rd to learn how to alter your Blanca Flight Suit to fit your unique shape. If you are not confident about preparing the pattern and cutting out the pieces at home, our How to Use Sewing Patterns class may be the best fit for you. 

Limited to 6 participants. Requires 3 participants to run. In the event of cancellation due to low enrollment, registered participants will receive notice and a refund 3 days prior to the scheduled start date of the series.

COVID-19 safety statement: This class will take place indoors with as much physical distancing as is feasible to provide quality hands-on instruction. Masks are required for all, regardless of vaccination status. Our staff is fully vaccinated. You will be updated via email if our health and safety procedures change.

I understand that participation in this class/event may include inherently dangerous activities, including but not limited to the use of scissors, rotary cutting blades, pins, needles, and other sharp implements; the use of motorized sewing machines with sharp, fast-moving parts; and the use of hot steam irons and other electrified and/or high-temperature equipment. I agree to exercise appropriate care when participating and to refrain from participating if I am taking medication or am under the influence of any substances with any tendency to affect negatively my motor skills or level of care and attention. I release from all claims, demands, liability, right or causes of action of whatsoever kind and waive my right to sue Notion LLC, their employees, officers, members, and agents from any and all claims in any way connected with any injury, illness (including death), or economic loss I may suffer or which may result from my participation in this class/event. If registering on behalf of a minor child, I acknowledge that I am their parent or legal guardian and agree to their participation and to the above liability waiver on their behalf.
