Basic Sewing Pattern Adjustments (Two Sessions)
Time & Location
IMPORTANT NOTE: This class meets in two sessions, from 6:00-9:00 PM on both February 3rd and 10th. Registration from this page covers both sessions.
We provide: Use of a sewing machine and supply kit, including tracing paper for pattern-making, plus six hours of expert instruction.
You bring: A copy of the Grainline Willow Tank pattern (printed copies available in the store) and a muslin (test version) sewn in the size that corresponds most closely to your current bust measurement. There is no need to hem or finish seam allowances on your muslin. Registered participants receive 10% off class supplies purchased at Notion.
Class length: 6 hours
Every body is different, and the beauty of sewing your own clothes is that you can create garments that are perfectly fitted for YOU! Over the course of two three-hour sessions and with the help of a simple tank top pattern, this class will cover some of the most common adjustments that you can make to commercial sewing patterns for tops, blouses, and dress bodices. Techniques include how to evaluate fit issues, combining sizes, lengthening and shortening, and common bust and shoulder adjustments.
The goal of this class is to help you learn versatile techniques using the Grainline Willow Tank pattern as a jumping off point. While everyone works at a different pace, the goal is for you to leave with a modified version of the pattern that you can sew into a great fitting top.
Limited to 5 students. Requires 3 participants to run. In the event of cancellation due to low enrollment, registered participants will receive notice and a refund 3 days prior to the scheduled date.
Please note our sewing studio space is on the second floor with no elevator access. We sincerely apologize for any difficulty this creates. Don't hesitate to contact us with questions at email@example.com.
