About This Class

Ages: 16+ Level: Intermediate. You should be confident with casting on and off, working in the round, knitting and purling, increases and decreases, basic colorwork, and reading a pattern. We provide: Expert guidance and camaraderie throughout the month as you develop your own unique version of designer Mary Jane Mucklestone’s popular Daytripper Cardigan. You bring: A copy of the pattern (available in print or digital download from Notion); yarn in up to 5 colors, plus needles and notions according to the pattern directions. We recommend Green Mountain Spinnery's Mountain Mohair yarn as an excellent substitute for the recommended Lopi yarn. Total instruction time: 8 hours over 4 sessions, plus email support throughout Cost: FREE with purchase of yarn from Notion (participants receive a 15% discount). Daytripper is a fun and engaging sweater to whip up in the early days of winter, maybe even in time for you to wear over the holidays? It is knit in the round, top down, with nary a seam to sew at the end. The color work is straightforward, with never more than two colors in a single row. Special techniques include German Short Rows and steeking, which allows you to knit a cardigan in the round, making the color work a breeze. Notion operates on Western Abenaki land.
